Name: Rudy James
Early Life: Rudy James was raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, and went on to attend high school in
Long Beach California, at Long Beach Polytechnic High School.
James then attended Cerritos College before graduating from Montana State University-
Northern where he received his Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering Technology.
James moved on to get his master’s at The University of Phoenix where he received an MBA in
Business Administration and Management.
Professional Career: Throughout his wrestling career, James was named a USA Veterans
Freestyle National Champion four times, as well as a USA Veterans Folkstyle National
Champion seven times.
James is a member of the UWW Veteran World team and earned a silver medal in veteran
freestyle at the World Championships in 2018.
Outside of wrestling: James serves as the Apple Valley High School Associate Coach and
Youth Club Head Coach. He was a member of the Minnesota Wrestlers in Business Network
Chapter from 2020-2021 and served as the Vice Chairperson and board member.
James enjoys motorcycle rides, cornhole, playing cribbage, and playing games with dominoes.
