Name: Richard “Dick” Carlson

Early Life: Richard “Dick” Carlson is a graduate of Mounds View High School before he
attended the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse where he studied Chemistry.
Carlson was an NCAA Divison III All-American in 2015 and 2017 and placed 2nd at the
University Nationals while a member of the UW – La Crosse wrestling team.

Professional Career: In 2022, Carlson placed first in the Bill Farrell, Iowa, Memorial
International Tournament, which earned him a berth to the 2022 Pan American Championships for Team
USA. He then went on to place second at the Bill Farrell again in the fall of 2022 in New York City, New York. Other
accomplishments include placing third at the World Team Trials in 2021 and fourth at the U.S.
Open in 2019.

Outside of wrestling: Currently, Carlson works as an Occupational Technical Services
Engineer at Cardinal Glass, and enjoys CrossFit, Olympic Lifting, and Chess. Carlson holds a
rating of over 1,800 in Blitz Chess on chess.com.
